Clair-Obscur suite for solo piano

Light and dark tones, slow reflective passages give way to bold, impassioned rhythmical ones in this three part suite for solo piano intended to be listened to from start to end.
Mathieu presents here more abstract musical paintings; referencing the fine art technique of chiaroscuro, echoed in the cover inspired by Francis Bacon’s more sensual oeuvre as a way to describe his music.
As per usual with Mathieu’s work, the listener is musically guided to discover unknown realms that will open their minds and engage their imagination in unexpected ways. Interpreted by Marie Awadis.
